What do you get paid to do all day?

Like cleaning up after a tornado, it's hard to know where to begin. The first task would be to sit down and evaluate your current protocol so you can identify areas where you can make significant changes. Then you would need to make some goals for yourself. According to the Columbus Foundation website profile for the Capital Area Humane Society, their answer to the question "Does your organization have a strategic plan?" was "under development".

Really? After 125 years and over a million dollars in salaries annually you still can't come up with a strategic plan? What do you get paid to do all day?

Maybe they should start by relaxing their version of an "adoptable animal". From the central Ohio craigslist site:

"My partner and I just broke up after 5 years, and we turned in our 2 dogs to the Capital Area Humane Society. They have been there for almost 3 weeks, and we thought they had passed the admissions test and had been put up to be adopted. I just got a call from them this evening, saying my babies, Max and Yobi, are unadoptable.

The reasons they gave are: Max, who is 3 years old and a blonde mutt, gets too excited when he sees other dogs, and Yobi, a small black lab about 5 years old, pulls on his leash when he goes for a walk. "

This is their definition of "un-adoptable"??
