Running out of things to bitch about?

Or maybe you're actually out there doing something constructive.

Doubt it.

Since numerous attempts to help CAHS improve programs are refused by Jodi and the senior staff, what do you think of working around them? For instance, is there a way we could work to create shelter laws with enforceable oversight by a third party (a government agency, OSU vet hospital, or other group)? This should be an active oversight committee who not only require documentation for review, but also make spot checks of the facilities and review ongoing cases. Reading your description of laws in other states, I don't see why we couldn't band together to force the "humane" society to be, well, humane! For instance, requiring healthy animals be held for a week, requiring food, water, shelter, heat, scanning, and vet care (such as the basic combo shot, distemper, deworming, etc.), requiring documentation that if it is decided an animal should die, every effort is first made to contact other area shelters to try to place the animal, etc. I'm sure you know of more basic requirements too. Since CAHS won't cooperate in saving lives just because it's the right thing to do, why not attempt to create laws they are unable to ignore? What do you think?

I think that is a great idea! How do we get that going?

I have been a volunteer at the shelter since 1997 - it's always been somewhat of a political mess. I think there has been one director that has been half way decent the rest oh God. I think the whole board and director need to go - clean house with some of the staff who are worthless. Maybe then the focus will be on the animals not on politics and how much overpaid the director is and she is!

Want to see changes. Boycott the businesses of the board members.
Let's hit them in their wallet.

Rita Wolf-Dispatch/ cancel your subscription, don't buy thier paper.

Limited Brands- Don't buy from them

Schoedinger Funeral- don't cremate your pets with them. If they care so much why don't they cremate the ten thousand or more cats killed at CAHS. Instead they dump them when their freezer is full (always is) and then dump them in a landfill along with all the euthansia juice in the cats and dogs. They only love your pets because you make them money. Even better don't have them cremate your family members

Nationwide Insurance- go to another insurance company, there are plenty

Suburban Animal Clinic, VCA of Sawmill and Mill Run (Dr. Beckett) don't use thier clinics- if they cared enough they would be treated the animals in their charges,

LaSalle Bank- use another bank AND
by the way, Huntington National Bank is partnering with them. Thousands of dollars will go to them to do more killing and more salaries.
